Johnson & Johnson Jumps Into the Lying Corporate Donor Fray

One of our readers tipped us off about Johnson & Johnson’s corporate doublespeak that they are passing around in an attempt to absolve themselves of their donations to Gov. Walker. Any donations by the family ownership and top executives ARE donations by the company since they control the company.  But their corporate PR department has decided to go down that failed road of claiming the “company” doesn’t donate directly, but please don’t go look at  what our executives and owners are doing. Sigh. Really?

Companies donating to anti-Democratic (as in the concept of democracy) and anti-worker (99% of us work for a living) that turn around and try to straight up lie to consumers really are about as low as you can go. They clearly care nothing for the very consumer that keeps them in business. Since you can’t really boycott someone twice, please make sure you tell everyone you know not to buy any of SC Johnson products.

Thanks to Thomas for tipping us off. A list of SC Johnson’s products and the letter in question below.

The Letter from SC Johnson:

Thomas,

We are aware that there has been some misinformation circulating about campaign contributions to Scott Walker’s race for Governor. To be clear, Wisconsin state law forbids corporate contributions of any kind, to any candidate, and SC Johnson of course complies with t…hose laws. We do not monitor or track individual or employee contributions to candidates.

We hope this helps to clarify any misunderstanding and appreciate the opportunity to share this information with you.

Regards,

Sara A. Thomack
